AREAS OF PROFESSIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC INTEREST: modelling business systems and business decision-making, computational simulation, system dynamics, and electronic business management

GETTING TO KNOW:

He was born in 1964 in Belgrade, where he completed primary and secondary school. He graduated from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in 1989, where he also obtained the academic degrees of MSc and PhD. He has been employed at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences since 1995, working in all positions from assistant trainee to full Professor.

MY BUSINESS BIOGRAPHY:

Professor Aleksandar Marković teaches many subjects, of which the most important are: Simulation in business decision-making, Financial simulation models, System Dynamics and Electonic Business Management. In his scientific and research work so far, he has published more than 70 papers in international and national monographs, journals, and proceedings of conferences and meetings.

He was Head of the Department for Management and Organization in 2005/2006 and Head of the Department for Organization of Business Systems in 2011. In addition, he was the president of the faculty Council in the period from 2012 to 2015. From 2016 to 2021, he was vice dean for organization and finance.

From 2007 to 2016, he was an editor-in-chief of the international magazine “Management”, published by the Faculty of Organizational Sciences. Since 2008, he has been a member of the editorial board of the electronic magazine “Innovative issues and approaches of social sciences”, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Since 2018, he has been a member of the CECIIS international conference program board of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics from Varaždin, University of Zagreb. In addition, he was the chairman of the Organizing Committee of the international symposium “SymOrg 2004” and the chairman of the Program Committee of the same symposium in 2014.

Professor Aleksandar Marković participated in a large number of projects in the field of IT and software development, management, and consulting. In 2022, he participated as an expert in the Project: “Consultancy services on E-Delivery Note” as a part of the Public Finance Reform (PFR) – 2030 Agenda in Serbia, which was financed by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. He currently participates in the project “Supply of IT equipment, software and ancillary services for the improvement of Centralized Case Management System (CCMS) in courts” (Identification number: EuropeAid/140728/DH/SUP/RS) as a Leader of a Consortium Member. He also participated as an expert in the “New Pay” project, which is part of a development project co-financed by “RS Innovation Fund within the Science and Economy Cooperation Program in Serbia”. In 2022, professor Marković was the project leader and expert for a consortium member in the project “Analysis of business development of the Treasury with emphasis on key processes supported by information technology” for the Serbian Ministry of Finance – Treasury. In 2010, he participated as a local expert in the Project: “Technical support for building the capacity of statistical departments in Serbia and Montenegro” (PN 05SER02/ 03/004.), which financed the European Agency for Reconstruction. In 2019/2020, he was the manager of the international program for retraining at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences under the auspices of UNDP.

Currently, he is part of a project team in the Erasmus+ Capacity Building Project: “Accelerating the transition towards Edu 4.0 in HEIs” – TEACH4EDU4 (2020-1-HR01-KA203-077777). As part of the Erasmus+ teacher mobility program, he was a lecturer at the University of Stockholm in 2018. He is a team member of several Erasmus+ projects.
